About...

Sunny Slope Farm is a 282-acre family farm located on Old Wolfeboro Rd. in the town of Alton, in Belknap County, N.H. It has been owned by and under the stewardship of the Chamberlain family for almost 70 years.  The Chamberlain family established the first farm in Alton (then New Durham Gore) in 1770, and was the first of the families of founders to arrive in the area. There has been a Chamberlain in Alton every single generation since 1770.

The Chamberlains, Ken & Anna and their seven children (including Ken, Jr) moved to Sunny Slope Farm in 1937 when Ken, Jr. was 12 years old. They farmed the land, kept dairy cows, hayed the local farms with a team of oxen,  and thanked the Lord for the abundance & purity of the water which they enjoyed every day of their lives on Sunny Slope Farm.

The current owners, Deanna O’Shaughnessy and Fae Kontje-Gibbs, inherited Sunny Slope Farm from their father, Dr. Kenneth W. Chamberlain, Jr. in September 2002.It was their father's wish that they pursue the harvesting of the Spring Water in order to be able to financially sustain and protect Sunny Slope Farm far into the future.

~~~~~
On July 26th, 2006, after more than four years and over $1 million spent to obtain it, the NHDES issued Chamberlain Springs a large groundwater extraction permit for the extraction of 155 gallons per minute, 223,200 gallons per day of pure, clean Spring Water.
In the spring of 2008 the members of the Chamberlain Springs LLC decided to bottle our own New Hampshire Spring Water and sell it locally.
In August 2009 Chamberlain Springs secured the financing to build a small mom & pop Spring Water bottling water barn at Sunny Slope Farm, where Chamberlain Springs is located.
